Crystal studies reveal the alpha-beta structure of the large domain. The core of the large domain consists of a twisted six-strand beta sheet, with four adjacent parallel beta strands numbered 4, 3, 1 and 2; strands 5 and 6 form a beta hairpin adjacent to strand 4. The beta sheet is packed between helices alpha C and alpha D and alpha A, alpha G and strand beta 7.
