Strong characteristic bisignate VCD signatures in the carbonyl stretching region were observed for both compounds in film state. Based on the simplified approaches of truncated models and the exciton coupling model, the absolute configurations of the compounds were unambiguously assigned using VCD and ECD spectroscopy.
