description: The present article consists of a summary of monetary policies of the Federal Reserve during the sub prime crisis in the USA, and explains the introduction of innovative monetary political instruments. To acquire an extensive comprehension of US monetary policies, a more qualitative approach can be found in the issuing bank balance sheet analysis. This analysis clarifies that the US FED has, since the beginning of the crisis, consciously corrupted this balance. At a later date, they had to freeze newly issued credits. Further matters treated by the article is whether the current monetary developments require new methods of analysis and whether considerations of the quality of funds should be added to the supervision of money supply as well as reduction of interest by the issuing bank.
